Movement Lab

The Movement Lab is the flagship umbrella program of Community Healing, Health & Happiness (CH³). It is a community-wellness access program that makes a range of movement modalities free, welcoming, and easier to explore.

The name reflects the experience: in a lab, people explore and discover. Through the Movement Lab, community members can try different ways of moving and learn what supports their bodies, minds, relationships, and quality of life. There is no performance standard to meet and no one to keep up with. Come move, play and connect.

Guiding philosophies

  • Movement is medicine.
  • Motion creates emotion.
  • A community that moves together, improves together.

CH³’s organizational tagline is “Healing communities, one member at a time.”

How Movement Lab works

CH³ shares current Movement Lab sessions through an evolving community schedule. Programming may take place on different days and in different community settings, led by approved facilitators and partners. Each listing identifies its intended participants, location, time, and other relevant details.

Many ways to participate

The Movement Lab intentionally offers different pathways into movement because no single approach works for everyone. Programming may include gentle movement and mobility, rhythm and dance, strength and balance, tension release and recovery, mind-body practices, and other community-led forms of movement.

The variety allows community members to explore what feels welcoming, useful, and sustainable for them.

Who Movement Lab serves

The Movement Lab creates opportunities across generations, including programming for keiki, ʻohana, adults, and kūpuna. Some sessions may welcome several generations together, while others may be designed for a particular group. Visitors should review the current session listing to confirm who each offering is intended for.
