A Movement Lab program

Body Church

Healing · Restoration · Movement · Community

Body Church is a free, community-based healing and restorative movement program for anyone living with everyday aches, ongoing discomfort, old injuries, stiffness, or the physical toll of stress and daily life. The name borrows the idea of “church” as a place people gather regularly to care for what matters — but at Body Church, the body is what we gather to honor, listen to, and restore. It is not a religious program; there is no worship and no belief required. Just consistent, supported, communal care for the body.

What It Is

Body Church treats the body as something worthy of regular attention, respect, and care — not something you tend to only when discomfort becomes severe. It is educational, community-based, and non-clinical: a supportive space that helps people care for their bodies and, when a need is beyond its scope, helps connect them to licensed care. It is not medical care, and it never replaces a doctor, physical therapist, or mental-health professional.

How It Works

Body Church is designed to blend individual support with the strength of community. A participant's experience may include:

  • A welcome conversation

sharing history, goals, and where the body needs care, so support can be shaped around the person.

  • A personal body-care plan

guided, individualized movement and restorative practices to work on at each session, within the facilitator's professional scope.

  • Group sessions

everyone working their own plan in the same welcoming space, guided by facilitators, alongside others navigating similar things. Practices include gentle restorative movement and tension release.

  • Gentle follow-up

caring check-ins to see how you're feeling and adjust as you go.

The Community Healing Effect

Something shifts when people care for their bodies alongside others facing similar challenges. The isolation that so often comes with discomfort begins to ease. Progress becomes visible. Showing up gets easier when you know you're not doing it alone. Belonging itself becomes part of the healing.

Who It's For

Body Church welcomes adults, kūpuna, workers, caregivers, athletes, and anyone carrying everyday aches, ongoing discomfort, old injuries, movement limitations, or simply a desire to care for their body with support and consistency. No experience required, and every practice is adaptable to where you are.

Free for the Community

Body Church is free to participants. CH³ welcomes grants, contracts, sponsorships, donations, and partner funding that keep it free and accessible — including collaboration with licensed professionals who wish to serve the community within their own scope of practice.

Health & Safety Note

Body Church provides educational, community-based, non-clinical wellness programming designed to support comfort, mobility, and confidence. It does not diagnose, treat, or provide medical or rehabilitative care, and it does not promise relief or specific outcomes. It is not a substitute for care from a licensed medical, rehabilitation, or mental-health professional. Participants with health concerns are encouraged to consult their provider.

Come Honor Your Body

Whether you're navigating something yourself or you're a workplace, organization, provider, or funder who'd like to bring Body Church to the people you serve, reach out — everyone is welcome.
